With the Frame 4000D, Corsair is reissuing its several-year-old entry-level 4000D series (test) for CES 2025. The optics are slightly adjusted. The new case also has more fan options. Some components can be exchanged for customization. The recommended price starts at around 100 euros.
New entry with many fan options
Visually, the new Frame 4000D series is very similar to the previous series. A generously perforated front is also used with a glass left housing wall. In addition to its slightly larger dimensions, the case differs from the previous series in particular by the new fan options.

While the previous 4000D series traditionally relied on front, top and rear fans in sizes 120 and 140 mm, the new Frame 4000D offers additional options on the right side of the case and at the bottom. Frame widths of 200 and 160 mm can also be installed. In the lid, the case offers a mounting system called “InfiRail” by Corsair. A mounting rail can be adjusted depending on the width of the fan used, so smaller fan brackets do not obstruct airflow when using larger fans. Air filters are not discussed in the presentation, although product images show a mesh filter at least up front.

Components can be exchanged
The Frame 4000D is also designed as a modular enclosure. Components such as the power supply cover, motherboard bracket, or I/O panel may be replaced. Here Corsair lists, among other things, the possibility of a panel with more USB ports or replacing the motherboard tray with one made of aluminum. Other colors should also be possible. However, any spare parts and their prices will not be discussed during the presentation.
The I/O panel is located at the bottom of the front and offers, among other things, USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type C. The Corsair Frame 4000D accepts motherboards up to E-ATX format. CPU coolers can be a maximum of 170mm in height. Heavy graphics cards can be supported using a support arm (“anti-sag bracket”). When using front fans, the maximum length can be 345mm – excluding 370mm. Power supply is limited to 220mm. The case also offers recesses for mounting the rear motherboard connectors. Corsair cites manufacturers MSI (Project Zero), Asus (Back to Future) and Gigabyte (Project Stealth). A small hard drive cage can hold either two 3.5-inch drives or four 2.5-inch drives.
With and without fan
The standard version of the Corsair Frame 4000D comes without a fan. An ARGB version includes three 120mm RS120 ARGB illuminated fans. The fans each offer eight controllable LEDs that can be controlled via the motherboard’s 5V lighting port.
The Frame 4000D and Frame 4000D ARGB do not offer fan control or even lighting control. However, there is a cutout on the back of the motherboard bracket to magnetically accommodate the iCUE hub, which is available separately.
Both case variants should now be available in black and white. The Frame 4000D has a recommended retail price of around 100 euros. The Corsair Frame 4000D ARGB costs around 120 euros.
The Techastuce editorial team has already been promised a test sample of the Corsair Frame 4000D ARGB, so a corresponding test case will follow soon.
