So far there have only been rumors, now CD Projekt Red confirms the collaboration with a first teaser image: Fortnite from Epic Games gets a crossover with Cyberpunk 2077. The video game itself also sent a tweet and shows Johnny Silverhand and V in Fortnite for the first time, armed with a mantiblade and a guitar.
The developer shows the first images
Just before the holidays, developer CD Projekt Red posted a nebulous tweet showing V, the main character of Cyberpunk 2077, asking “What are you looking at, V?” In the photo, the character is looking at various monitors in a casual pose with a greedy look. A Fortnite battle bus sits prominently in the middle.
Photos indicate current season
Once the battle bus is discovered, a second look at the remaining monitors reveals that they are photos from a Fortnite world. The monitors represent a total of seven locations, all of which are from the current Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1. You can see a view of the polluted beach that looks like Seaport City, but also a place that looks suspiciously like flooded frogs.
This is the first time the developer has confirmed the collaboration and promises an update with cyberpunk content soon.

Content still unknown
Information about skin packs, new vehicles or Fortnite dances cannot be derived from the images. However, it can be assumed that there will be exclusive skins that will bring the cyberpunk characters into the digital battle. It would also be possible to introduce a new location reflecting Night City or to change the current locations with neon lights. However, this has not been confirmed, but it should become clear at the latest when the update is released.
When is Fortnite × Cyberpunk 2077 coming out?
While CD Projekt Red has let the cat out of the bag, things are still pretty quiet at Fortnite developer Epic Games. So far, only a few rumors and leaks predict a collaboration as early as November. Shortly before Christmas, the crossover will be officially confirmed for the first time. There is no further information such as a release period yet. The current season including the Battlepass will run until February 25.
Possible release during current season
However, there is no need for a whole new season for the content of the cyberpunk universe for Epic. In the past, Fortnite has also added new content from collaborations of current seasons. For example, with the integration of Marvel, Star Wars or Horizon Zero Dawn content in 2021. The starting signal could therefore be given at any time, perhaps as early as the beginning of the year, when most players are already at home due to the holidays, vacations or vacations.

Fortnite confirms Cyberpunk update
Fortnite also confirmed the collaboration today and released a short video featuring Johnny Silverhand and V in Fortnite. Silverhand’s guitar and V’s mantiblades can also be seen. The tweet announces an upcoming update with “We’re expecting guests from Night City.”
An earlier version of the article stated that the images on the monitors resembled locations in Cyberpunk 2077, hinting at new locations in an upcoming update. In fact, all locations shown are already part of the current Fortnite season, meaning they only point to the current map. The editorial team would like to thank Techoutil user EMkaEL for reporting this error.
