has unveiled the Diablo IV roadmap for the remainder of 2025. Following Season 7 “Hexenmacht,” which began in early January, Season 8 “Return of Belias” seamlessly begins in late April. Diablo IV’s two-year anniversary also falls within this season. Diablo IV was released on July 1, 2023. Two years and nearly seven seasons later, however, there’s still no end in sight, as the roadmap shows it for the remainder of 2025 and a first look at 2026.

The diablo-iv-roadmap 2025

The roadmap for 2025 initially reveals the upcoming seasons. Accordingly, the current Season 7 ends on April 29. Season 8 will be called “Belia’s Return” and will begin immediately after the end of Season 7 and run until the end of July.

Season 8 “Belia’s Return”

Blizzard writes about Season 8:

Belial’s Return: Belial, Lord of Lies, has returned to warp reality to his will. Bold hikers can record him in the updated Refuge boss system with Belial and two Vessel of Hatred bosses. New features in Season 8 include:

Boss Power Quests and a prestigious Stellar Attack activity in a companion chat, which must be earned.

Diablo IV’s first anniversary will take place during this period. It hasn’t been explicitly stated in the roadmap whether the anniversary will have its own in- event. Blizzard only mentions that two “IP collaborations” (also known as “crossovers”) are planned for Season 8; thus, the fusion of the Diablo universe with other universes or themes that have not yet been mentioned.

Season 9 “Pinse The Horadrim”

Season 9, “Sins of the Horadrim,” will begin in July and run through September.

Sins of the Horadrim: We’re returning to the Nightmare Dungeons with new activities and interactions that will allow you to increase the intensity of the dungeons as you pursue the Barons of Hell.

Season 9 Highlights:

Horrible Powers – Quests and Prestigious Companion Gains

Season 10, “Infernal Chaos”

Season 10 finally begins in September and runs through the end of the year. A collaboration that hasn’t yet been detailed for this season is once again promised.

Hellchaos: Updates for the Hordes of Hell – The hordes of Hell become chaotic as we put new options into your hands. There will also be expanded options between waves of Hell. The highlights of Season 10 are:

Chaos Powers Quests and prestigious Horde update companions

On consoles with mouse and keyboard

Against seasonal updates, Blizzard promises that Diablo IV will also be playable on consoles with mouse and keyboard in the future. This implementation is based on the player’s multiple wishes.

In addition, somewhat vague improvements to the “basic Battle Pass and Season Pass system” are announced without going into further detail, as to what exactly is expected to change.

Outlook for 2026

The roadmap also reveals a 2026 outlook, without further details. A new expansion will be announced. After the Vessel of Hatred, which was released in October 2024, this would be the second expansion. A new rank system and a leaderboard were also announced.

Player Count

Diablo IV is currently far from the high player count, especially after the release of the Vessel of Hatred. If up to 55,000 players were playing at the same time, the 24/7 peak is currently not 6,000 players.

While Diablo IV is “largely positive” overall, recent reviews have only been “balanced.” The Hate Ship also only receives a “balanced” rating—just over 1,100 reviews.
