Doom: The Dark Ages: MIT Update for Full Raytracing & DLSS Ray Reconstruction in June
DOOM: The Dark Ages (review) was announced as a feature before the title with full ray tracing, but at the start of the game, the feature was no longer implemented on time. As Nvidia announced at Calpex, this should change sometime in June.
Full Raytracing and DLSS Ray Reconstruction Coming in June
There is no exact date; it’s not difficult to know if full raytracing will be released in early or late June. However, it is certain that the corresponding patch will not only be available in full RT, but also in DLSS ray reconstruction.
Nvidia has not provided any additional information. After all, two comparisons were made available during a presentation, showing the difference between full ray tracing, including DLSS ray reconstruction, and the maximum normal graphics, which also relies on ray tracing for lighting and reflections.

Furthermore, there’s the usual comparison between “DLSS OFF” and “DLSS ON” on a GeForce RTX 5090 for full graphics. This should be accelerated by a factor of 7 by DLSS. NVIDIA in Ultra HD compares the frame rate of the native resolution, including its own edge smoothing, with DLSS performance and 4x DLSS multi-frame generation. The comparison is therefore correct in terms of frame rate, but it doesn’t represent particularly valuable information.
10 new games with DLSS
Additionally, Nvidia announced 10 games that will receive DLSS 4. Some of these have yet to be released, others have already been released. Which games will receive DLSS 4—whether super resolution, frame-shifting, multi-frame generation, or ray tracing—is unfortunately not clear from the announcement.
