Eve Systems has announced support for Matter‘s energy reporting features in the Eve Energy Smart Socket and released the EVE app in version 1.3 for Android, which in turn includes support for EVE Energy. Additionally, Eve Energy has now received the “Works with Home Assistant” certification.
Eve Energy with Matter Energy Report
With the firmware update released today, Eve Energy is based on comprehensive Matter energy management. The smart socket’s previous proprietary methodology is replaced by the reporting features specified in Matter, which Eve developed as a member of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA). The goal of this standardization is to create an open interface for the cooperation of devices from various origins. On platforms that follow the home assistant’s lead and natively support energy porting, plugs such as Eve Energy provide real-world data such as current performance, voltage, and current, as well as cumulative energy consumption values based on this data, dynamically and automatically. The new firmware also improves the energy robustness of the SEVE, particularly in large thread networks.

Eve has also received the “Works with Home Assistant” certification. Both Eve and the Home Assistant enable local control without the cloud. Eve Energy connects directly to the Home Assistant via Thread and is fully mapped. According to its own statement, EVE already has other sensors, energy lighting, and heating control devices, as well as roller blinds, certified for the Home Assistant so that users can also fully integrate them into the Home Assistant. A compatible Thread border router is required to use EVE devices with Matter support on the Home Assistant platform.
Eve Energy in the Eve App for Android
The third piece of news affects the Android app for Eve. The EVE app for Android, based on Google‘s Home API, now presents all the important functions of EVE Energy, such as standalone schedules and current plans, and energy consumption measurements with graphical processes and expected costs. The child protection LED button on the device can also be activated with the app. Support extends to Eve Energy models for Australia (2nd generation), Switzerland, Europe (4th generation), the UK (3rd generation), and the US and Canada (4th generation).
