GeForce Festival Leak: RTX 5090 PCB Photo Shows Room for Huge GPU 51 comments

A photo of a suspected PCB for a GeForce RTX 5090 has appeared on the Chinese forum Chiphell, known for leaks from the Asian PC component industry. The extremely short, still sparsely populated board offers space for a huge GB202 housing and 16 GDDR7 components.
PCB Production Photo
The photo was apparently taken during PCB production, as the board is not yet populated with components and still has production-related overhangs. Strictly speaking, there are actually two PCBs that are still connected for production reasons – and thanks to their mirrored arrangement, they also reveal the two ends of the extremely short PCB.
Reference designs from PNY production?
The card is labeled “PNY 5090 V1.0 100-1G145-DFAA-AF2”, so it could be the reference model manufactured by PNY – even if the Nvidia logo is missing in the PCIe slot area.
You can see the 16 mounting slots for GDDR7 memory modules, which corresponds to the supposed 32 GB capacity of the GeForce RTX 5090. Abstractly, the arrangement of the chips around the GPU package is reminiscent of the figure of Google Android – a corresponding leak made the months ago.
It can also be seen that the housing on which the GB202 GPU will sit will be extremely large and a little wider than it is high – this also corresponds to the well-known leaks that spoke of 63 × 56 mm for the housing.
The assembled PCB of the GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition is shown below for comparison. Nvidia no longer appears to be using its V-shaped tip.

The fact that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5000 series graphics cards will rely on PCI Express 5.0 is confirmed by the PCI slot, which has the typical arrangement of contact surfaces.
The top of the two boards reveals another detail where it is held: at the end there are only twelve contact surfaces for a 12V 2×6 connection. The maximum TDP of the card would therefore be limited to 600 watts – OC included.
Presentation of the GeForce RTX 5000 on January 6
The presentation of the new RTX 50 series is expected for CES 2025. The show will take place in Las Vegas from January 7 to 10, 2025. The day before the opening, January 6 at 6:30 p.m. local time, the curtain will rise. will likely be raised during Nvidia CEO Jensen’s keynote speech at CES 2025.
