GEFORCE RTX 5060 TI: ZOTAC doesn’t do 12V-2×6, what’s the competition doing? 6 comments
All GeForce RTX 50s, i.e., the RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070 currently available, must use the 12V-2×6 connection. Nvidia isn’t giving any choice here. Like the 5060 TI, it hasn’t been officially announced yet. Weeks ago, it was rumored that the new connection was only optional. Zotac probably isn’t using it at all.
No 12V-2×6 at Zotac? This relates to the graphics card, referring to all official documents from the board partner. They show six graphics cards in the series, including three GeForce RTX 5060 TI 16 GB and GeForce RTX 5060 TI 8 GB, in the AMP and Twin Edge series. None of the dual-fan designs use the new connection.
Other board partners are also expected to follow this approach.
Other partners are also likely to follow this approach, a look at the predecessors GEFORCE RTX 4060 TI (review) and GeForce RTX 4060 (review): there was not a single design with 12V-2 x 6. The only exception was the Founders Edition with the 8 GB variant. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB IM Test

The RTX 5060 Ti should cost so much
For the 16GB model, $429, for the 8GB variant, $379 before taxes (and the new pricing). The difference between 8GB and 16GB would therefore only be $50 and not $100. The GEFORCE RTX 4060 TI 16GB was only launched two years ago to massive criticism of the 8GB variant by Nvidia in the short term. It’s unclear whether there will be a Founders Edition at this point—there was one of the RTX 4060 Tis with 8GB, but this generation is apparently focusing on the 16GB version.
