HLX = Half-Life 3?
Rumors of a new Half-Life game from Valve, codenamed HLX, which would be Half-Life 3, have multiplied in 2024. Leaks in recent months have spoken, among other things, of improved physics, a level design inspired by Uncharted. series of games, a grenade launcher, destructible NPCs, and an HEV suit that can be upgraded as the game progresses.
Officially, Valve has suspended work on Half-Life 3 since 2014.
So far just a lot of rumors
As always, rumors surrounding Half-Life 3 should be treated with caution. A number of claims about an impending announcement have been proven false in the past. And new rumors often emerged at the turn of the year, like now. In the VR spin-off Half-Life: Alyx (VR benchmarks), Valve had already anticipated that Gordon Freeman was not yet at the end of his journey with the final sequence. Valve also said after the highly acclaimed VR game that they were no longer afraid of Half-Life. Along with the growing rumors, there is at least some hope for all fans of the series that Valve will actually continue the series.
