For home IP, there is an app update that introduces a wizard for system transmission from the homematic IP access point to the Homematic Home Control control unit. A homematic-IP cloud installation simply needs to be transferred to the control unit. It also expands automation possibilities.
Almost complete migration in minutes
The version 3.4.7 application features a system transfer wizard that should complete the entire installation move in a matter of minutes. All devices, groups, automation, parameters and measurement data are transmitted over the last twelve months. Only extended functions such as user roles and access permissions then need to be updated manually.
The EQ-3 provider not only shows the necessary steps in a video, but also offers detailed instructions on the IP house website.
The advantages of the Homematic IP home control unit
For users of a large smart home installation, the Homematic IP Home control unit, which started in September 2024, and the change on IT offers advantages: the headquarters combines up to 350 smart home components, including 120 radio-controlled devices. Their operation and configuration can also be done through the app and, if desired, without an Internet connection. All settings, measurement data and automation are only saved locally. With plugin functionality, an EEBUS interface, WLAN and LAN connection and other connection options, the home control unit is also the most flexible IP hub if you want to gradually upgrade the system.

“Else” and extended CCU3 plugin
In addition to system transmission, the app update also adds a new automation option. The “Else” command can be used in IF-then rules to trigger an alternative action if the specified additional condition is not met.
The plugin for coupling a CCU3 smart home center with a home control unit is also expanded and now allows the replication of group functions between sensors and actuators learned at the center.

The Homematic IP app update with version number 3.4.7 is gradually rolling out via the respective app stores starting today and is available to all users within a few days, according to EQ-3.
