Hyper 612 Apex: Cooler Master wraps cooler cubes in “Stealth Design” 11 comments

Cooler Master is reviving the Hyper 612. As a top model, it is significantly smaller than its eleven-year-old predecessor, the Hyper 612 V2, and, according to the Zeitgeist, fully covered. The target audience has also changed; the performance level has not, explains the manufacturer.
The Hyper 612 was and is one of Cooler Master’s largest single-tower coolers. Compared to the Hyper 212, the manufacturer has not only increased the number of heat pipes to six, but also the surface area of the slats. The new Apex version is also being designed along these lines, reviving the model series. It’s new
The first innovation compared to the long-expired older model is the heat pipes, which are now integrated into a copper base. The cooler master will once again feature a larger cooling tower. With an asymmetrical orientation above the base, as was already the case with the older model, this allows for the use of memory modules with a large expansion.
In this case, however, the slat surface is reduced somewhat: the promised 30% reduction in size (based on external dimensions, however, the older Hyper 612 V2 is only 25% larger, although it’s unclear which one the cooler and cooler are using as a comparison) is achieved in both length and width, while the height remains down to a millimeter.
Subtle “stealth design”
To increase cooling capacity, the Hyper 612 apex now uses a second fan and increases the maximum speed. Both Mobius 120p spin from 0 to a maximum of 2,400 rpm and therefore almost twice as fast.
A new lens is also being used by the master of design dimensions used to define the red pencil according to the model’s budget philosophy in the region. Given the virtually avoidable side window housings, the Apex Hyper 612 is now wrapped in black, but does not use the fan or wear LEDs. This heralds a cooler master as a “stealth design,” which integrates the fans and forms the entire cooling tower into a monolithic cube.
Early dealerships are listing the Apex Hyper 612 at prices of €55, without specifying a delivery date in the near future.
