Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: Premium Starter without FSR, XeSS, path tracing and Denuvo 47 comments
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (Test) can be played by purchasers of the Premium and Collector’s Editions in “Advanced Access” on Steam; buyers of the standard version will have access to it starting Monday. Only then will there be “full ray tracing”, as we can see now. However, FSR and XeSS will still be absent, as will Denuvo.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle only offers DLSS
As explained in the full benchmark test for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the only upscaling and frame generation technology currently available is Nvidia DLSS, which can only run on GeForce RTX. AMD FSR or Intel XeSS, which would also work on Nvidia graphics cards, do not exist. It is unclear when the technologies will follow.
Indiana Jones is reminiscent of Starfield, which did not offer DLSS at launch, but did offer FSR, triggering a wave of indignation that forced AMD and publishers to make public statements. DLSS was added later.
“Full Raytracing” only on December 9
Another surprise might be that the promised “full ray tracing”, which will probably only work satisfactorily on the GeForce RTX 4000, is currently not included in the game. This feature should only be included on December 9, launch date of the standard version. Premium and Collector’s Edition buyers cannot try this feature this weekend. When available, Techconseil will review this topic again.
Commercial version without Denuvo
What the retail version of the game also does not offer is the anti-tampering software Denuvo. However, Denovu had always integrated the review version on which the previous editorial tests were based. Gamers will be happy about that.
Techastuce will also take a closer look in the short term to what extent the performance differs between the two versions. This also applies to the game-ready drivers from AMD and Nvidia.
