Intel: New Driver Fixes B580 Bugs, Detects Twin Lake

Intel has released a new Arc graphics driver for desktop graphics cards and iGPUs, bringing improvements to the new Intel 12GB “Battlemage” (test) as well as initial support for Twin Lake. However, the driver does not yet address all issues with XeSS 2 frame generation in F1 24.

Bugs (fixes) with Arc B580

For owners of the Arc B580 12GB Limited Edition or Custom Design, Intel is promising three major improvements:

Skull and Bones* (DX12) may experience an application crash when launching the game. Some capture cards may exhibit visual artifacts in certain scenarios. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege* (DX12) may experience lower than expected performance.

In F1 24, the first game to support XeSS 2, including XeSS Frame Generation (test), crashes may still occur; for example, if the frame generation setting is adjusted in-game.

The driver is also the first to support three “new” iGPUs or the series of that support them:

Launch driver for Intel® Core™ N-Series and 2-Series processors (codenamed Twin Lake, Raptor Lake-H Refresh, Raptor Lake-U Refresh).

As the new iteration of Intel’s N series, Twin Lake relies exclusively on E-Cores. Intel’s Ark database doesn’t yet know about the new N processors, but it appears there is no concrete NDA. The following screenshot shows the current driver on an Intel N150 Twin Lake processor in the editorial.

Raptor Lake-H Refresh and Raptor Lake-U Refresh are, in turn, just new editions of the famous mobile processors, which Intel positions as Core 200 without “Ultra” among the new Arrow Lake-U and Arrow Lake-H (X) Processors. However, the driver has not yet commented on these brand new mobile processors that Intel is expected to present at the show.
