iPhone 17 (Pro): Alleged new case hints at huge camera 23 comments
Shortly after the release of the iPhone 16 (review), rumors surfaced last fall that Apple would feature a completely new camera system with the iPhone 17 (Pro), similar to Google‘s Pixel series, with a “bar” extending across the entire back. The alleged new covers should now confirm this.
Shüllen leak points to huge camera bunnies
Sonny Dickson’s photos of the X should be new covers for the iPhone 17 Pro.
If the iPhone 17 Pro appears in this design, the camera bunnies would be significantly larger than those of the Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 (review). According to other rumors, however, the Pro model should also retain the familiar three cameras. Why Apple? It remains to be seen.
Is Apple packing more than just the camera into the bars?
It could be that Apple is externalizing the “bars” beyond just the camera to make the new iPhone 17 even thinner, far from this area. That Apple will focus on particularly thin devices for the iPhone 17 has been reported several times in the past. Even a particularly thin iPhone 17 Air has already made the rounds online several times.
Another rumor claims that Apple’s new generation will finally feature a fully 120 Hertz display. In the fall, the fact that only a fast 60 Hertz display was used in the non-PRO model again sparked criticism of the iPhone 16 (review).
