Developer Warhorse Studios has announced Patch 1.3 for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II next week. Not much is known yet, but the hardcore mode is definitely here and promises to make the much more challenging.

However, it’s long been known that the hardcore mode was coming, ever since the roadmap for 2025 was released before Kingdom: Deliverance 2, which announced the hardcore mode for spring.

Furthermore, the Barber feature was promised for spring, which was already implemented with the last major update and received a lot of positive feedback. Additionally, there are no horse , which are expected to come with another update during spring. Hardcore mode is already familiar from the first part of KC:D and features a considerably difficult life in medieval Bohemia. The exact range of Funcore mode in KC:D2 is not yet known in detail, but will most likely be based on the first part.

It is already known that the new mode removes the compass and any type of quest marker, making navigation much more difficult. In addition, you will have to choose three from a number of properties (perks) that remain active and have negative effects on the main character.

The ten negative properties are translated:

Numbskull – “Dumpkbacke” Somnambulant – “Sleeping Change” Bad Back – “Bad Back” Bash – “Shy” Picky Eater – “Celebrity ESSER” Sweaty – “Sweaty” Menace – “Menace” Heavy Feet – “Heavy” Punchable Face – “Pastry Pipe Face” Hangry Henry – “Hungry HEINRICH”

Only two of the ten perks are known from the first part: the Dull Cheek and the Sleepwalker. While the Dull Cheek permanently reduces the overall experience, the Sleepwalker ensures that the main character, Heinrich, likely wakes up in a completely different place after going to bed.

The significance of the remaining properties only became clear with the release of Patch 1.3, although it could be assumed that, for example, Hangry Henry refers to an increased appetite or a bad back with a lower carrying capacity.
