Laptop processors: Core Ultra 200H and -U coming soon, Core Ultra 200HX in March 21 comments

Already announced in October with the Core Ultra 200S (test), Intel has finally announced the mobile ramifications of Arrow Lake Core Ultra 200HX (details) and Core Ultra 200H (details). Core Ultra 200U – Arrow Lake with up to 2 P and 8 E cores is confirmed for the first time.
Core Ultra 200HX at a glance
With the HX series, Intel integrates the largest desktop chip of the respective generation into the laptop using a BGA package instead of an LGA package. Arrow Lake offers the HX series again, so the base is the same as the Core Ultra 9 285K.
Compared to the last generation, Intel has managed to significantly reduce the surface area of the Arrow Lake-HX case: its footprint would be 33% smaller. However, this also means that the new generation is not “pin compatible” with the old one.
There will be six processors from the 8+16-core Core Ultra 9 285HX to the 6+8-core Core Ultra 5 235HX (still without Hyper-Threading, even in notebooks). Systems equipped with the Core Ultra 200HX are expected to be available later in the first quarter.

Core Ultra 200H and 200U at a glance
Arrow Lake-H is the successor to the H and U class Core Ultra 100 “Meteor Lake” in the laptop segment. At IFA 2025, Intel only announced the H series, but the U models are also returning to the market in this generation.
What was not yet known: As in Meteor Lake, the so-called “low-power E-cores” are found in the SoC tile of the H-series multi-chiplet package.

The H series initially includes five models from Core Ultra 285H to Core Ultra 5 225H.

The U series includes four model variants that not only have a lower TDP, but are also based on their own multi-chip package and obviously adopted the Meteor Lake SoC panel – because both LP-E cores are back. In the compute tile, there are at most two P cores and eight E cores. The IGP and NPU also appear to be those of Meteor Lake. “Arrow Lake-U” is ultimately a Meteor Lake Refresh.

Additionally, Intel is launching its Intel Core Ultra 200U mobile processors featuring up to two P-cores and eight E-cores, Intel Xe LPG graphics, and up to 24 TOPS platforms. Intel Core Ultra 200U systems offer users an excellent balance of performance, power efficiency and price.
Core Ultra 200V and Core 200 are also available
For ultra-mobile and particularly durable use in notebooks, Intel also offers the Core Ultra 200 based on Arrow Lake as well as the Core Ultra 200V with Lunar Lake (test), and the older Raptor Lake H series is also available Core 200 reissued. And Intel is revealing something else at CES: the Raptor Lake U processors are returning to the market under the name Core 100.
