The Lemokey L5 He 8K promises minimal response times as a “fast keyboard” and particularly finely adjustable, which should provide more precision. On Kickstarter, the technically interesting model comes in early to stir the advertising drum.

Behind Lemokey is Keychron, which, among other things, builds convincing noble keyboards with the Q5 Max (test). Lemokey is aimed more at gamers, which is why the L5 He 8k is touted as a fast keyboard with minimal response time. The market launch accompanies a Kickstarter campaign with limited quantities – the pre-sale should generate interest.

Adjustable thinner button

Technically, Hall effect knobs are used, which can be adjusted finer than usual with the L5 He. Instead of 0.1 millimeter steps, the point of the “ultra-fast lime magnetic switches” can be set in 0.01 millimeter steps between 0.5 and 3.35 millimeters on center. has changed in the functional principle.

With an initial resistance of only 25 grams, the buttons are also particularly easy to coordinate – normal models are normal in analog models. Even smooth models such as in the endgame hardware KB65HE (test) start at 30 grams.

Additionally, there has been an increase in the scanning and probing rate of 8,000 Hz, which should speed up signal recording and transmission. In the best case, this arithmetically and absolutely literally saves a few milliseconds of time and, like the finer configuration option, will hardly have a noticeable effect. This even points to the Kickstarter side, where human response time is estimated at 150 milliseconds.

Setup as always

The 75% layout and keyboard structure also adorn other keychrones products. This includes the aluminum housing, here with RGB light strips on the back and the different layers of insulation. With the L5 you can also choose between the top and gas ket mount, both options are included.

Software in the browser

The keyboard can be configured with the “Lemokey Launcher” in the browser, which is basically the well-known “Keychron Launcher” with a different logo. There the buttons and keypad can be programmed and the lighting can be changed. The supports quick button trigger and multiple signal points.

LeMokey also an analog mode in which both buttons and chickens work. A hooded alternative is also offered, but ModTap is not.

Kickstarter as pre-sale

As he is behind LeMokey Keychron, the Kickstarter campaign cannot be considered as a means of financing a start-up with an innovative product, but simply as a marketing tool. This also speaks for itself, the low financing target of only 9,655 euros, which was reached quickly, and the delivery, which is expected to start from the middle of May.

A copy of the keyboard in the German ISO layout with a large entry key costs around 220 euros plus customs taxes on the country side. This is a lot of money, but for a full-fledged analog stick in relation to little. In addition, Lemokey sells accessories: a hand ball holder costs 12 euros and dust protection as well. A set of additional key caps or a carrier covered with 24 euros each, a desk mat with an additional 20 euros. Additionally, Lemokey offers mice as accessories.

Techconseil received information about this article from Lemokey under NDA. The only requirement was the earliest possible release time.
