Light Mount and Dark Mount: Be Quiet! Makes Modular Keyboards Quiet! 98 comments
Be quiet with the full-size keyboards of the Light Mount and Dark Mount! on the gaming and peripherals market. While the Light Mount is a typical input device according to the “gaming standard,” the Dark Mount promises flexibility with a modular concept and display keys. Both do justice to the company’s name.

Quiet! – Thanks to Triple Isolation
Both keyboards rely on free buttons that are not enclosed by a housing. This is an unfavorable prerequisite for an input device with a subtle soundstage. Both are therefore insulated in three layers: between the PCB and the switch plate, which closes the case upwards when the button layout is free, as well as with two more layers below the PCB, which should continue to dampen the sound and fill the cavities.
The final layer differs: with the light backing, it is made of foam, with the dark backing of the model made of silicone. This sounds complex, but is standard in the high-end price range, albeit in the gaming segment.
The dark backing and the light backing are insulated in three layers; the dark backing also rests on silicone.
Own silent switches
The own pre-alienated buttons should contribute to further noise reduction. Be quiet! To do this, insert two models: orange, linear buttons with 45 grams of resistance at the release point act as a variant of “red” models. There are also black buttons with 55 grams of resistance and touch coordination. Which makes the button particularly quiet and when they trigger the leaves calm down! in the dark.

Light amount: Game standard for 170 euros
“Basic model” for the start is the light carrier around 169.90 euros. The 105 buttons are complemented by five Macot keys to the left of the keyboard and a rotary control, which serves in the standard volume control configuration.

Additionally, the keyboard has side LED strips and another lighting element at the top. PBT keycaps are as much a part of the gear as hotkeys.
Black mount: modularity for 260 euros
The Top Model support goes a step further towards the RRP of 259.90 euros. There are eight additional buttons with screens that are not only freely occupied, but can also be freely “labeled” with images or symbols. You are located above the digital block, which is modular for dark support.
With the dark stand, the num-pad can be placed on the left or right, the same goes for the screen
The numeric keypad can be removed and positioned to the right or left of the keyboard. The same goes for the multimedia panel, which houses a small display, a scroll wheel, and other multimedia keys. Two mounting positions are also possible here. However, these unusual features are not new, but rather a further development of the Everest of mountains—the manufacturer has been silent!—which took more than two and a half years to complete.
Software and Web IO Center
Both keyboards can be programmed via the new IO Center from Be Siet!, with which the company also aims to stand out from the gaming competition. The IO Center doesn’t see itself as a huge “system center,” but as a specialized product for configuring input devices. Be Siet! seems to be a layout and structure!, having studied exactly via or wooot. This also applies to another point: the IO Center can be installed locally (IO Center software) or in the browser (IO Center Web), and therefore also used under Mac or Linux.
