Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is the recently released new game from Don’t Nod, the developer of The First Life is Strange. Cassette 1 is available on Steam and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series s. After a short time, the game with over 900 reviews is “very positive” on Steam.
Second development team in Canadian Montreal
With Lost Records, Don’t Nod has found a new gaming universe. Bloom & Rage is therefore the first part of the series. The title works on the races of the second development team of the nods, which were only founded in May 2020, in the Canadian Montreal. Therefore, it’s not the exact same team that also developed Life Is Strange 1, but members of the old team are involved. It’s also worth mentioning that the title has been split into several “cassettes” and that – as with LIS 1 – this appears to be free for purchasers of the game. According to the developers, Kassette 2 is expected to advance the story on April 15.
Reunion after 27 years
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage concerns the story of four women who became close friends in their youth in the summer of 1995. However, there was a mysterious event at the time when the group made a mutually agreed to go their separate ways from now on. They reunite after about 27 years, as one of them received a mysterious package that appears to be related to the events at the time. The key question raised at the start of the game is accordingly: what happened back then?
Camcorder instead of a Polaroid camera
Many horses from the previous life are strange: the feel-good atmosphere, objects that mainly commented on the main character or simply the type of dialogue selection, everyone feels very familiar. However, a new function is the camcorder. Players can not only inspect objects, but also optionally record. In this way, memories are created, which in turn gives space for side quests, such as “15 Birds Movies”.

Reviews of the game are “very positive”
On Steam, the game with over 900 reviews is considered “very positive”. About 93% of the ratings are recommendations. As with Life Is Strange, the story, characters, overall atmosphere, and soundtrack are praised – less surprising as critics also say Lost Records would feel like a Life Is Strange game.
However, reviews also report crashes or other performance issues. The game would also take too long to tell the story – and if it gets exciting, the first episode was already over. How other episodes reach players remains open.
For interested parties there is the game on Steam and for the Xbox Series X | s with an introductory discount of 10%, it therefore costs 36 euros and not 40 euros. But if you want to wait for all the episodes anyway, you can look for better discounts later. The game is also in the PlayStation Plus catalog.
