MSI is introducing three new OLED monitors at CES 2025. Among them is the MPG 272QR QD-OLED. The same resolution is available on the 322URX QD-OLED with DisplayPort 2.1a.

MSI presents the MPG 272QR QD-OLED 500Hz.
This raises the previous benchmark of 480 Hz by another 4%. A notable difference is therefore unlikely. LG Display has been producing the first 480 Hz OLED screens in series since the summer. These are also models with WQHD resolution.

The MSI MPG 272QR QD-OLED X50 is equipped with DisplayPort 2.1a, which supports the full bandwidth of 80 Gbps (UHBR20). The 3rd generation QD-OLED panel offers 2560 × 1440 pixels, 0.03 ms response time and 99% DCI-P3. DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification means at least 300 cd/m² brightness across the entire surface and 500 cd/m² in the center.
OLED Care 2.0 aims to minimize the risk of burns. Such damage is also covered by the three-year warranty. USB-C up to 98 watts and a KVM switch are also included.

MPG 272URX QD-OLED
The MPG 272URX QD-OLED offers more pixels in the same area with its 3,840 × 2,160 pixels and 166 ppi. The refresh rate is significantly lower at 240Hz. According to MSI, the installed panel is a “5-layer tandem OLED panel with EL Gen 3 technology.” This one is said to work 30% more efficiently than conventional OLED panels and has particularly durable blue OLEDs. These could survive longer at higher brightness. However, according to DisplayHDR True Black 400, the maximum brightness is lower than that of the 272QR.

This monitor is also powered by DisplayPort 2.1a including UHBR20 for maximum throughput and supports USB-C with 98 watts and KVM.
MPG 322URX QD-OLED
MSI’s third OLED newcomer also uses a Samsung QD-OLED panel and carries the MPG identifier 322URX. This monitor delivers 3,840 × 2,160 pixels on 31.5 inches and up to 240 Hz. With DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20, 0.03 ms response time, 98-watt USB-C and KVM, the equipment is very similar to the other two models.
MSI had already presented this monitor in December, so the market launch should take place earlier. In general, there is no information yet on price and availability.
