Gaming monitors with LCD instead of OLED are still around. AOC has unveiled two new models. The 25G4SXU has a 24.5″ FHD IPS panel with a 300Hz and 310Hz OC option. The CU34G4Z has 3440×1440 pixels with 240Hz and VA technology on a 34-inch bent screen. Both monitors are expected to be available in April.

Both newcomers belong to the G4 series and, according to AOC, are intended for “competitive gamers.”

AOC Gaming 25G4SXU

The AOC 25G4SXU has a so-called fast ICH panel with a fast 1ms response time (GTG) and a mobile response time of 0.3ms (MPRT). The 1920×1080 pixels form a pixel density of 90 ppi on a 24.5-inch diagonal. The maximum refresh rate of 300Hz can be Overclocked to 310 Hz via the on-screen display (OSD).

The monitor stand’s flat, asymmetrical base is designed to accommodate keyboards that are often tilted by professional gamers. The display can be adjusted by 130 mm in height, tilted, and swiveled both horizontally and vertically (pivot).

AOC Gaming CU34G4Z

With the CU34G4Z, AOC, in turn, relies on a high-contrast VA panel that is bent to a radius of 1.5 meters (1500R) and presents a 34-inch 34-inch 1440 pixels display. The pixel density is 109 ppi. The 21:9 aspect ratio should be suitable for racing and flight applications, among other things. AOC also claims a 1 ms (GTG) response time and 0.3 mp MPRT for this model. However, VA panels tend to be as fast as IPS panels. At 240 Hz, the refresh rate is slightly lower than its sister model.

Furthermore, AOC lists DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1 ports, 1.07 billion colors, and HDR400 certification for the CU34G4Z. Both models are also said to have a 5 Gbps USB hub.

Price and Availability

The 25G4SXU for €249 (RRP) and the CU34G4Z for €459 (RRP) are expected to be available in April 2025.
