Intel has launched improved boxed coolers for the new Core Ultra desktop processors in the Arrow Lake family. According to the public datasheet, Intel’s second generation of so-called laminar coolers works a little quieter.

The new Intel Laminar RH2 is included with the 9 285, which leads the 65-watt models in the Arrow Lake family. The modified design brings a marginal increase from 69mm to 71mm, while the footprint, weight and maximum fan rotation speed remain the same.

At 40°C, the rotation speed of RH2 is slightly lower than that of RH1, which results in a lower volume.

The height of the new Intel Laminar RM2, aimed at small CPU models from Core Ultra 5 225 to Core Ultra 5 265F, also remains unchanged at 47mm. However, the new model is 10 grams lighter than the RM1. The newcomer should run quieter at 2,400 rpm. However, the maximum speed is slightly higher. Unlike the aluminum core of the RM1, the bottom plate core of the RM2 is now made of copper, which has better thermal conductivity.

The RM2 would also be the only model in the series made in part from recycled plastic.

Arrow Lake cheaper with new coolers starting January 13

The overclockable “K” processors with a TDP of 125 watts are followed by the normal processor models with 65 watts. There are also many -S models that will be available in stores from January 13.

At the same time, the new B860 will be launched, making entry into Intel’s new generation based on the LGA 1851 socket even cheaper.
