New company logos are apparently popular in the storage industry. After Micron introduced its new curved logo in October, the next manufacturer is now following suit. SanDisk, Western Digital‘s soon-to-be flash storage subsidiary, also made a massive logo change.
The new style, which SanDisk says it defined through the motto “Mindset of Motion,” appears not so much curvy as minimalist and futuristic. The branding is intended to signal “a bold start to the company’s return as an independent innovator in flash and storage technology, planned for early 2025,” according to a press release.

SanDisk will soon be independent again
As everyone knows, parent company Western Digital has decided to spin off its flash storage business and therefore the SanDisk brand as an independent company. The logo is just another step on the way. By early October, Western Digital had already started listing all Flash-only products on the website of its branded subsidiary SanDisk.
