New Samsung logo: QD-OLED in over 170 products and you should see it too
Samsung’s display division would like to highlight its own QD OLED technology more prominently. To this end, a new marketing strategy and logo have been developed that will appear on the packaging of TVs and monitors in the future. There are now over 170 on the market.
Samsung has done this
For a long time, LG Display was virtually the sole leader in OLED panels for TVs, followed by Samsung Display with its own OLED technology at the end of 2021: QD-OLED, with QD standing for quantum dot, reaching the market.
In the meantime, many monitors, especially Samsung, have been equipped with a QD panel, which has significantly contributed to OLED finally becoming the norm in monitors. The price comparison currently lists 79 monitors with QD-OLED technology. Suppliers of these models include not only parent company Samsung Electronics, but also Acer, AOC, ASUS, Dell, Gigabyte, MSI, and Philips.
It’s even more manageable for televisions, as only 32 models with QD-OLED are listed here, only three of which are from Sony, not Samsung.
In its latest press release, Samsung mentions that QD-OLED technology has found its way into “more than 170 products” since its introduction.
New “brand identity” with Q-Logo
The fact that a QD-OLED panel is found in products from other vendors is often only mentioned in passing. Some manufacturers even boast of their own solutions, such as “Asus Old,” “MSI QD-OLED,” or “Sony Bravia XR OLED,” which initially lack the recognizable basic technology of Samsung’s display. And even with the parent company, Samsung, sometimes only “OLED” appears on the device.
In the future, the new Samsung logo for QD-OLED could be
This is exactly what Samsung now wants to change and is giving QD-OLED a “new brand identity” that goes hand in hand with a new logo. The “Q” for QD-OLED is at the center. The coloring is based on blue OLEDs, which serve as a light source. The color gradient is intended to symbolize the wide color gamut of QD-OLED displays. After all, these achieve more than 99% of the DCI P3 color spectrum and 90% of BT2020, Samsung explains.
Samsung’s new QD-OLED logo
With Global Partners, Samsung Display now wants to actively advertise the look of the new brand. The logo is not only to be prominently displayed at trade shows, but also printed on packaging.
Samsung Display plans to build the QD-OLED brand identity by partnering with global customers, presenting the new identity at industry events, and integrating it into packaging designs.

Whether manufacturers will be required to use the new logo when the Samsung QD-OLED panel is accepted in the future will likely remain a trade secret.
