Nintendo Direct: Many new games and Virtual Software Cards to lend 65 comments

Nintendo is showing off many new games and Virtual Software Cards, which are supposed to simplify sharing games. This means that games can soon be shared and shared within a family and between two consoles. New information for the Nintendo Switch 2 has been promised again for the Nintendo Direct on April 2nd.
Virtual Software Cards
Until now, games for the Nintendo Switch have been purchased on a physical Game Card, traded, and resold, or acquired digitally without this flexibility in the online store. Nintendo will introduce Virtual Software Cards to simplify this process under certain rules. Virtual Software Cards are managed in the profile in a separate view. Software Cards can be shared as desired between two Nintendo Switch consoles, and the consoles must be set up once with a local connection. Games on a virtual software card can be assigned within the family group. A local link between the two consoles is still required for loans. A game can still be assigned per person for a maximum of two weeks; after that, it is automatically returned. The family group is limited to a maximum of eight people. This feature will also work on the Nintendo Switch 2 and between the Switch 1 and 2. Virtual game cards will be added with the software update at the end of April 2025.
Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D-Remake
Square Enix is releasing a 2D HD remake of the almost 40-year-old Dragon Quest 1 and the second part. The original title was released in 1986. It was a simple single-player role-playing game with round-based combat, adapted to today’s conditions. Successful combat outcomes were rewarded with gold and experience points. The second part was released in January 1987. The former hero was able to move in a party of three, but also had to face multiple opponents. The controls, which were also based on commands in the first part, have not changed.
The remake is scheduled for release this year and will also be released on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (on the Steam and Microsoft Store).
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is a first-person action game. It also appears this year. The player plays as Samus. She is stranded on the planet Viewros and must defend herself against a wide variety of opponents to survive. To leave the planet, various relics and stone figures must be scanned and puzzles solved. The newly acquired psychic abilities are very useful for the latter. They can trigger mechanisms and direct your own beams into your path.
Disney Villains Minded Café
In a cursed and once-normal café, the player is hired as a new bartender. There, their task is to pour different drinks and concoctions for various villains from Disney Fairy Tale. The respective potions have different effects on each villain’s story. The mermaid can be seen as a guest of Cruella de Vil, Gaston, and Ursula from Disney’s Ariel.
