Nintendo Switch “Bricked”: Update to 20.0.1 Fixes Error Code: 2206-1015 with 20.0.0 9 comments

After releasing a Switch software update to version 20.0.0, user complaints piled up that the console would no longer start displaying error code: 2206-1015. With the update to version 20.0.1, Nintendo has now released a bug fix.
Anyone who hasn’t yet updated their first-generation Nintendo Switch to version 20.0.0 should be safe from the error.
Fixed an issue where error code: 2206-1015 sometimes occurred when restarting the system after updating to system version 20.0.0. If you’re already running version 20.0.0 and are experiencing the issue, you should update your console in maintenance mode. Nintendo explains how this works in detail and illustrates it online: with the console turned off, the “Lauter” and “Quieter” keys must be pressed simultaneously, followed by the power button.
