No initial review: The GeForce RTX 5060 is on the market today (219 reviews) for €319

A month ago, along with the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB (review) and GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB (review), the GeForce RTX 5060 8GB is also being launched today. It costs €319. However, there are no initial PC-based reviews, as NVIDIA only made curated “previews” possible in advance.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang unveiled the GeForce RTX 5060 as a desktop and notebook solution on the main stage of the show in Taipei. He emphasized that the RTX 50 series had a brilliant start this year, and although the Keynote featured only a fraction of GeForce’s focus on the subject, it remains an important pillar of the company.

Price and Availability
With an RRP of €319, the RTX 5060 is €10 cheaper than the RTX 5060 Ti with 8GB of memory expansion. The predecessors, the RTX 4060 8GB and RTX 3060 12GB, were €10 more expensive at €329. The new RTX 5060 will be available from 6 p.m.

No real tests at first
While Nvidia supported the launch of Blackwell graphics cards up to the RTX 5070 with a normal review program, including sending samples and providing drivers in advance, this does not apply to the “5060 family.” Already with the RTX 5060 TI, only 16GB models were available; the 8GB variant had to be organized by the editorial team themselves.
With the RTX 5060 8GB, Nvidia has now provided neither models nor drivers. The exception was “curated previews,” which were only allowed to use predefined games, settings, and comparison models. Techastuce was not offered such cooperation at all, but the editorial team reportedly rejected it as well. Work on an independent test by the editorial team can only begin if the driver is made available to the general public with the launch of the graphics card. A model has been on its way to the editorial team for a long time, but due to shipping issues, it remains open for its arrival. In any case, a test is planned that was created without Nvidia’s requirements.
Details on the GeForce RTX 5060
The GeForce RTX 5060 offered 20% more computing power than its predecessor. Again, there will be 8 GB of memory, which can lead to problems in modern games, as the computer base showed in a direct comparison of the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 8 GB versus 16 GB. The GeForce RTX 4060 (test) also only offered 8 GB of VRAM, its predecessor, the GeForce RTX 3060 (test), was already on the market in February 2021. The first gaming graphics card with 8 GB of memory was in 2014.
In terms of features, the GeForce RTX 5060 is just as well equipped as the flagship GeForce RTX 5090. Neural Shader, the new RT Units, and Tensor are all on board as the new video processor. This is also not surprising, as the GeForce RTX 5060 relies on the GB206 on the same GPU as the RTX 5060 Ti. The graphics card should draw a maximum of 145 watts; a single 8-pin power connector is sufficient.
Further details on the GeForce RTX 5060 can be found in the graphics card’s announcement report. Without actual online tests, it is currently impossible to accurately assess the GeForce RTX 5060. It is advisable to wait for detailed test reports and then decide whether what is offered meets your own expectations. The curated overviews are by no means a solid basis.
