The time has come for a few days and various new notebook models from Acer, Asus, MSI, HP and Razer present themselves in the price comparison. The Thunderbolt-5 spell is now broken. Until now, there was only one gaming notebook from Razer that could offer the fastest USB-C interface.
This year’s product range of gaming products has a lot to offer. The bars are noticeably pushed in several places. In addition to more RAM, there are new graphics cards with GeForce RTX, namely the GEFORCE RTX 5070 TI, RTX 5080 and RTX 5090. In addition, there are new processors, better displays, Wi-Fi 7, as mentioned, Thunderbolt 5 and mass storage – at least if gamers are willing to dig deep into their nets. But in turn.

MSI
The currently “cheapest” introduction in the world of GeForce RTX 50 is currently available from MSI, especially with the MSI Vector 16 HX AI, for 2,199 euros, with availability from the beginning of March.
At this price, buyers receive a GEFORCE RTX 5070 TI with a maximum GPU power of 140 watts (maximum possible with an RTX 5070 Ti at 175 watts), including mux switch. The offer is rounded off with 16 GB DDR5 RAM, 1 TB SSD and a Core Ultra 7 255Hx with 8C + 12C / 20T. The whole thing is packed in a 2.7 kg case with a 16-inch display, which dissolves with 2,560 × 1,600 pixels at 240 Hz. This notebook does not offer a Thunderbolt 5, but available via a Gbit-LAN 2.5 interface, like all currently listed GeForce-RTX 50 notebooks.

Asus
If the notebook is also to support Thunderbolt 5, a preview of the RTX 50 entry at ASUS is a look. The ROG Strix G18 offers at least 2,499 euros and can be broadly compared to the MSI counterpart, but also offers Thunderbolt 5 and Wi-Fi 7. In addition, an upgrade to 32 GB of RAM is possible for 100 euros more. The display of the Strix G18 has a size of 18 inches, but only dissolves with 1920 × 1200 pixels and “only” offers a refresh rate of 144 Hertz.
For more than 100 euros more, the Strix G16 is available, again with identical hardware, but with a 16-inch screen that offers 240 Hz.
The Strix G16 or -G18 product line can be driven up to 3,399 euros with various upgrades. Then, in addition to the known specifications, offer a GEFORCE RTX 5070 TI with full 175 watts and a mini LED display with 2000 buffers and Nvidia G-Sync. The CPU climbs to an ultra 9 275hx core with 8c + 16c / 24t.
If it needs to be a little more, the Zephyrus models or the STRIX SCAR 16 can be considered at ASUS. The Scar 16 currently marks the end of the price in the entire RTX-5070-Ti segment, with 64 GB of RAM, a mini-statement with Vesa Displayhdr 1000 and the previously mentioned Core Intel Ultra 9 275hx. For this, 3,799 euros are called.

At around 3,550 euros, MSI with the somewhat cheaper A16 AI + stealth offers a roughly comparable product based on an AMD Ryzen Ai 9 Hx 370 with 4C + 8C / 24T. However, only 32 GB of RAM is installed and the RTX 5070 Ti can only be lowered to 105 watts. Wi-Fi 7 is on board, but Thunderbolt 5 is not. The A16 Ai+ Stealth is only 2.1kg.
Razer
There are three models from Razer that start at around 2,770 euros, but may have an OLED screen. In this price range, Razer uses an AMD Ryzen Ai 9 365 with 4C + 6C / 20T. As with other models with AMD-CPU, there is no Thunderbolt 5. The 32 GB of RAM cannot be expanded.
If you are willing to spend up to 3,500 euros, you will receive a unique selling point at Razer with the Blade 18. The 18-inch display can be controlled with 3840 × 2400 pixels and 240 Hz or with 1920 × 1200 pixels, but with 440 Hz running. This is called “Dual Fashion Display” for Razer. The model is again flanked by 32 GB of RAM and an Intel Ultra 9 275Hx core. The housing weighs 3.2 kg.

Acer
With the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI OLED, Acer only offers one model with the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, which should cost 2,999 euros. There is an OLED display with 2,560 × 1,600 at 240 Hz, an Intel Core Ultra 9 275Hx and at least 64 GB of RAM, but not Thunderbolt 5. The LAN interface is an Intel Killer E3100G and is primarily aimed at gamers.

If a GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is no longer enough, the next step is only in the RTX-5080 portfolio. Few changes in the selection of base material. From 16 GB to 64 GB of RAM, everything is available. The brightest display is available again from Asus with the Asus Rog Strix Scar 16 or Scar 18, as before with the RTX 5070 Ti.
The CPU can now be boosted to an Intel Core Ultra 9 285hx, which offers more clock than the 275HX. The rest of the available hardware does not differ from the model variants with the GEForce RTX 5070 Ti.
HP
It should be noted that starting with the GEFORCE RTX 5080 HP is also entering the gaming notebook market. At the start there are six quite similar HP Omen Max 16s, which vary from 3,299 euros to 3,799 euros. In full expansion, an OLED screen, an Intel Ultra 9 275Hx core with 32 GB of RAM, Wi-Fi 7 and even a 5 Gbit-LAN interface.

It becomes particularly interesting – and high – with the latest step towards the GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU. Prices start at 4,399 euros with the Razer Blade 16 (2025). For this, buyers receive an OLED display with G-Sync, which dissolves with 3,570 × 2400 pixels, an AMD Ryzen Ai 9 HX 370 with 4C + 8C / 24T, 32 GB of RAM and Wi-Fi 7, but no Thunderbolt 5.
HP, ASUS, Razer and MSI are represented with other models that offer the upgrades known from the RTX-5070-Ti and RTX-5080 models, for example 64 GB instead of 32 GB of RAM.
An RTX-5090 compatibility study for more than 7,000 euros
By far, the most notable early GeForce RTX 50 hardware in the notebook comes early from MSI, with the MSI Titan 18 HX, possibly as a Dragon Edition.
MSI sets an exclamation mark with 7,099 euros and leaves one’s mouth open – but not only because of the price. The Titan 18 HX appears to be a feasibility study in which the following applies: everything that works, whereby the technical maximum has not been installed in the 3.6 kg housing. The GeForce RTX 5090 can run on up to 175 watts.
An 18-inch mini-LED display with 120 Hz and Vesa Displayhdr 1000, plus an Intel Ultra Core 9 285hx and 96 GB of RAM. The 6 TB SSD capacity, which is distributed, is spread over a total of three storage media of 2 TB each. There is one in a PCIe 5.0 slot, two in a PCIe 4.0 slot and another PCIe 4.0 slot is always free, which means that the storage capacity can even be expanded. Wi-Fi 7 and Thunderbolt 5 are of course on board.

It remains to be doubted whether around 2,500 euros more justify the expansion of working storage and SSD capacity. Even 64 GB of RAM should be sufficient for the life of such a notebook in order to be able to present all upcoming PC games without any problems.
Availability
All models mentioned (and also explicitly listed) are not yet available at the moment, but can already be pre-ordered. Availability is given from the beginning of March to mid-April, depending on the model.
So far, road prices have not yet been established. With many models, due to the competition, it can be assumed that the prices will be leveled in due time (downwards).
Pre-order bonus
At MSI, there is always a bonus of 100 euros or 130 euros discount for pre-orders, which applies to notebooks with a GeForce RTX 5080 or higher.
