Originally announced for consoles in fall 2025, GTA VI has been delayed to 2026. Rockstar Games has just announced it. On May 26, 2026, a very specific release date is being given for the first time.
It’s Taking a Little Longer
It’s not surprising that this title, too, is not only failing to meet, but exceeding players’ expectations—and that’s why it’s taking the extra time.
In May 2026, following series tradition, it should first be the consoles’ turn before the title appears on PC at some point. Rockstar Games has announced a PC version, which is also a tradition, but not yet. Only console versions for the Xbox Series S and X and the PlayStation 5 (Pro) have been confirmed so far.
So far, there has been a trailer.
The next installment of the action game series will once again take place in Vice City, as was the case in the fourth installment. For the first time, a woman plays a leading role. She’s called Lucia and can be seen alongside a male protagonist in the only trailer released from late 2023.
