Omen Max 16 & Omen 16 (2025): Gaming notebooks with Ryzen or Core Ultra and RTX 5000 4 comments

Not only is Razer switching from Intel to AMD in the 16-inch Blade 16 (2025) gaming laptop, but HP is also re-releasing the Omen 16 with Ryzen processors for CES 2025 – but as an alternative to the previously exclusive Intel option . In the future, the manufacturer will place the Omen Max 16 with the most powerful GeForce RTX 5000 laptop GPUs above the Omen 16.
The new Omen Max 16 (2025)
The new Omen Max 16 ranks above the Omen 16 and offers larger dedicated GeForce RTX 5000 Laptop GPU-like graphics cards compared to its smaller sister model. The Omen 16 is expected to end with the GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU; The Omen Max 16 also has a GeForce RTX 5080 and 5090 laptop GPU.
The Omen Max 16 also offers more powerful processors, with customers able to choose from a wide range of AMD Ryzen AI 300 (Strix Point) and Intel Core Ultra 200HX “Arrow Lake-HX”.
As with the Razer Blade 16 (2025), the choice of the Strix Point APU instead of a Fire Range CPU is surprising, but the APU offers a 50 TOPS NPU and the Omen Max 16 in this configuration offers Copilot+ . This is not the case for the Intel option.
Like the Omen 16, the Omen Max 16 offers three display options, but only in the Omen Max 16 is QHD+ (16:10) also available as a fast 240 Hertz OLED with a response time of 0.2 ms – probably the same panel as in the Razer Blade 16. The Omen Max 16 (2025) gaming laptop is expected to go on sale “in the coming months” with prices starting at $2,699 before tax. So it will probably take some time.
The New Omen 16 (2025)
This also suggests that March 2025 is already mentioned as the release date for the new Omen 16. The starting price is $1,599 before taxes, which is over $1,000 less.
