One UI 7: Samsung Android 15 first rolls out to the Galaxy S24
Samsung is sticking to its announcement and has begun rolling out Android 15 with the One UI 7 user interface. It’s starting with the Galaxy S24 series, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. Other models will follow shortly. Future updates, such as Android 16, could be released much more quickly.
Many models are receiving the update.
The official rollout begins approximately four months after the Android 15 beta program began on the Galaxy S24. According to the original announcement from mid-March, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra should initially receive the update, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Later this month, according to the Korean Samsung Members Forum, the updates to the Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy S23 FE, the Galaxy S24 FE, the Z Fold 5, the Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S10 series should be expanded.
Finally, in May, the Galaxy Tab S9 and Galaxy Tab S8 series, as well as the Z Fold 3 and 4, the Z Flip 3 and 4, the S23 FE series, the S21 and S22 series, and the A35 and A34, also representing the mid-range segment, will receive the update. For May, Samsung has planned the Galaxy Tab S9 FE/S9 FE+, the A53, A25, and A24, the Tab A9 and A9+, as well as a few models that haven’t been released in the local market.
Only a little AI
The new AI features are different and remain behind the current flagship Galaxy S25: All smartphones that appeared last year are expected to receive at least one AI feature, with the Eraser-Elected audio devices going empty-handed.
A UI 8 could arrive sooner than expected
A report from Samobile indicates that there will be little time left in the country with One UI 8 until the release of Android 16 with One UI 8. Accordingly, Samsung plans to roll out the corresponding update in the second half of 2025 with the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7. This would only deliver the new version a few days to weeks after Google’s official release.
