Opera has released a new version of its GMS specifically for Gamer GX, in which the developers have this time focused on improved tab organization. The new edition also brings significant innovations in other areas.
The new features should make tab organization easier.
The new version of the gamer browser should provide a better overview when dealing with open tabs and facilitate frequent switching between individual pages. Key innovations include the split-screen feature, which now allows two websites to be displayed side by side. As a result, the desired content should remain permanently visible without having to switch between tabs. According to Opera, simply move the respective page into the split window using drag and drop. Tab Traces
The new tab traces feature aims to simplify access to open tabs and make them easier to find. The feature allows tracing the last five browser steps to recall recently visited pages.
Islands
So-Salted Tab Islands, on the other hand, should allow thematically sorted pages to be displayed in fold-in groups if necessary. This can be attributed to the new emoji tab’s own graphic elements to better distinguish the groups.
Tab traces and tab islands are currently still in beta and must be enabled in the settings via the early feature.
Bluesky is now also directly integrated
Additionally, the increasingly popular social network Bluesky has been integrated directly into the browser’s sidebar. It complements the existing services Discord, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, WhatsApp, and X, and can be accessed quickly at any time. The desktop database is also available on Bluesky.
Available now
The new version of Opera GX is now available for download from the manufacturer’s website. Alternatively, the update can also be obtained from the Techastuce download area via the link at the end of this article.
