Almost two years after the Verse and Pro variant (test), Pocketbook introduced a new product line. In September 2024, it added the Pro Color (test), the cheaper version of the Verse, which is intended primarily for beginners.
The Lite variant also offers the 6-inch display familiar from the regular Verse. Although the wallet doesn’t specify an exact resolution, the pixel density of 212 PPI, which has remained the same, indicates the same 758 × 1024 pixels. The high-resolution panel with 1072 × 1448 pixels remains reserved for the Pro version. The manufacturer has dispensed with a blue light filter and only integrated white LEDs for lighting. Likewise, the control buttons, which were otherwise located under the screen, have been retained.
Identical technological basis
Pocketbook’s Pocketbook Lite is primarily aimed at beginners.

Smaller battery
The Verse Lite also boasts savings in its built-in power storage, which is smaller at 1,000 mAh than the 1,500 mAh of the other two models. While this is still likely to provide enough power for long reading evenings, it requires a much earlier return to a power outlet. Furthermore, Pocketbook does not use a position sensor in the Lite model.
Available from today
Due to the changes made, the Wallet is able to offer the Verse Lite at an RRP of €115, thus cheaper than the regular Verse model at €135. The reader is now available in Midnight Gray.
