Asus’ ProArt Display 5K PA27JCV monitor, announced at Computex, is arriving at retailers. The 5,120 × 2,880 pixels are exchanged for 950 euros. With a diagonal of 27 inches, this means an extremely high pixel density of 218 ppi.
In early June, Asus announced the 5K monitor as well as models with 6K and 8K resolution. The latter are still slow to come, so the smallest goes first.

The IPS panel has a so-called AGLR (anti-glare, low reflection) coating. According to Asus, this creates “a paper-like screen effect” and should allow for a sharper display compared to traditional matte screens.
To ensure that the color representation remains accurate even in different environments, sensors are installed that allow the background lighting to be adapted to the ambient light.
Maximum brightness is expected to reach 500 cd/m², which is underlined by DisplayHDR 500 certification. Contrast ratio is specified at 1500:1 (typical) and 3000:1 maximum. However, there is no mention of a special black IPS panel.
Ports include DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with DisplayPort and 96 watts Power Delivery. In combination with the three USB-A sockets, a KVM switch function is offered. A headphone jack and speakers are also available.
The manufacturer’s product pages provide even more details and additional images. In-store offers currently start at 932 euros.
