Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070: 200,000 tickets sold in the first wave, supplies starting in April
The AMD Radeon RX 9070 (XT) market launch has performed better than that of the NVIDIA competition, but supply still significantly exceeds supply. On the eve of the AMD AI PC Innovation Summit in Beijing, AMD reportedly announced initial sales figures, and a boarding partner provides an outlook on near-future availability.
200,000 graphics cards dropped
According to the Taiwanese publication, AMD reportedly pulled out all the stops on the eve of the AMD AI PC Innovation Summit held Tuesday, providing some insight into previous sales. The first batch of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XTS is said to have consisted of over 200,000 graphics cards worldwide.
It’s unclear whether this means sales to distributors and dealers or directly to end customers. The graphics cards are still available in stores, at least, but with a clear price premium over the RRP of €629 or €689 for the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT. Many custom models cost more anyway, but are also affected by the price increases. Current information on availability and pricing is always available in real time in the PC database availability check.
Better availability expected from April
Board partner Yeston, known for its colorful designs and serving the Asian market, has, based on its social media channels, provided a view of near-future availability. While new products are already being delivered weekly, a real easing of the supply situation is expected in the second quarter. Trading supply with cards is expected to significantly stabilize starting in April and from then on, it should remain consistently high. As a result, market prices can be expected to decline again.
