SanDisk Creator Series: Blue for creatives, SSD and USB stick for Fortnite fans 6 comments

SanDisk is introducing a variety of new storage media for creative professionals at CES. These include external SSDs and USB sticks as well as memory cards. Some solutions can be attached to the smartphone using MagSafe or offer various connections. For Fortnite fans, SanDisk offers an SSD and a stick as a “Peely Edition”.
SanDisk Creator Series: Blue identification mark
SanDisk wants to address the growing target group of “content creators”, such as digital artists, photographers and video creators, even more directly with the Creator series. Their particularity: the blue color. The manufacturer had already put some products in its own online store before the start of the year, others are now following suit. For the most part, most of them are based on well-known series.
Creator Phone SSD with MagSafe
The new addition to the series, for example, is the Creator Phone SSD, magnetic based on the MagSafe principle. Apple can be connected to a smartphone. Data transfer is carried out via cable at up to 1000 MB/s reading and 950 MB/s writing. The memory is fast enough to record around 4K video at 60 FPS Apple Record ProRes directly to the SSD. A silicone case protects against shock, dust and water; the SSD is certified according to protection class IP65.
The 1 TB Creator Phone SSD will be available in stores from around 115 euros (recommended price) in spring 2025, and a 2 TB model is also planned.
Creator’s phone reader
The Creator Phone Drive is more compact, but with significantly less storage and speed. The USB stick is available in 128 GB or 256 GB and, according to the technical sheet (PDF), should only reach 90 MB/s reading and even less writing. These transfer rates are no longer up to date. Two ports are available for this: USB-C and Lightning.

Sales have already started at prices around 49 euros (128 GB) and 71 euros (256 GB).
USB-C Creator
The SanDisk Creator USB-C drive is much faster. The USB drive is expected to achieve up to 400 MB/s read speeds and is offered with 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage space. However, the prices are relatively lower, around 30 euros, 54 euros or 107 euros.

Creator Pro Portable SSD
There’s more storage space, up to 4TB, with the Creator Pro compact portable SSD. The Creator Pro Portable SSD is already available at prices ranging from 150 euros to 400 euros. Up to 2,000 MB/s is promised via USB 3.2 Gen 2×2.

Creator’s Desktop Player
The Creator Desk Drive for the office is available at 370 euros with 4 TB or at 710 euros with 8 TB of storage space. This is a variant of the SanDisk Desk Drive (review) that has just been updated in terms of color, but requires an external power supply with an additional cable for proper operation.

Finally, SanDisk has also added the new Creator look to the already available microSD and SD cards.
SanDisk Extreme Pro Dual
Dual version USB sticks with USB-C and USB-A ports are well known and will now be available under the name SanDisk Extreme Pro Dual from spring. The manufacturer claims it’s the “fastest of its kind” and lists maximum data transfer rates of 1,000 MB/s read and 900 MB/s write. You can create automatic backups of photos, videos, music, documents and contacts using the SanDisk Memory Zone app for Android. USB stick prices start at around 50 euros.
Fortnite Peely Edition
Anyone who loves the survival shooter Fortnite will know the banana character Peely, who is now not only available as an epic skin in the game, but also in SanDisk’s portfolio. The Peely Edition Fortnite Portable SSD is said to offer up to 2TB of space for data and 800MB/s for reading. Sales are expected to start in February at prices starting at 99 euros for 1 TB.
The Fortnite USB key matching the Peely design is available from just 10 euros with 64 GB of storage volume.

Still with the old SanDisk logo
The new launches above do not yet feature the new SanDisk logo, also introduced just a few weeks ago.
