Intel’s AI-powered upscaling technology, Xess, is now supported in over 200 games. The company has now announced this with new additions. In the best-case scenario, FPS can be quadrupled using Xess, Intel announced.
Intel Xess stands for XE Super Sampling and is an AI-powered upscaling technique for Intel’s XE family of graphics solutions. Introduced in 2022, Xess is the answer to Nvidia’s DLS and AMDS FSR. All of these techniques share the common goal of enabling more FPS in games and increasing image quality. The article linked below provides details on the techniques:

Intel has now announced that over 200 games now support Xess. All titles are listed on an Intel website. It’s worth noting that the majority support Intel Xess, but not yet Intel’s Xess 2. NVIDIA announced in March that more than 100 titles now support the latest version of Multi Frame DLSS 4. At AMD, there are currently 37 titles that support FSR 4.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is one of the latest additions. With Xess 2, performance isn’t expected to quadruple, but is at least 2.4 times higher than without Xess. A promotional video demonstrates the benefits.
No frame generation was used in the editorial team’s technical test, so no Xess 2 was used. Therefore, the performance is not comparable. In the community test with this title, results were simply lacking with Intel Arc, which is ultimately due to the relatively low distribution. Nvidia GeForce and AMD Radeon continue to state.
