Without warning, Rockstar Games released a second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI yesterday afternoon. In addition to content details, the trailer also showcases the graphics players can expect for the first time: the preview was recorded on a PS5 and has already garnered millions of likes.
Millions of likes and hits in just a few hours
The new trailer has already taken the internet by storm overnight with its action, sex, and gangsters. After nearly 21 hours, the clip, which was less than three minutes long, has garnered over 64 million views and nearly five million likes. It’s on track to catch up with the first trailer for GTA VI, which was released in December 2023, reaching over 93 million views within 24 hours. The first trailer has now racked up over 250 million views. Whether the second trailer can finally build on it will be revealed over time. The new trailer is also being heavily analyzed, as it’s officially being released on PlayStation 5 for the first time.
The trailer showcases GTA VI’s graphics
In addition to its range, it also knows how to impress: the scenes shown in the video feature significantly improved graphics over its predecessor, GTA V, which received graphical updates over the years. Depending on the scene, the presentation is very different, always featuring expressive throws, characters, or objects. The following screenshots can all be downloaded in their original 4K resolution. GTA 6 (ORTE) Screenshots (PlayStation 5)

Textures and objects appear high-quality, with reflections present in many places, as in its predecessor. Facial expressions, physics, and the level of detail of human faces, as well as the body, especially the hair, stand out. A similar degree of detail can be found in other areas of the image, for example, the beer bottles, which are not only presented with carbon dioxide, but also transmit light in the background.
No gameplay, but cuts the cuts
Since the trailer deliberately lacks any gameplay, the scenes shown are likely cut, which won’t necessarily be in-game. What the game looks like during shootouts, chases, and raids remains unclear today. First glimpses of the PS5 version
The trailer nevertheless provides a first glimpse of the console versions’ graphics, since Rockstar confirmed in the final seconds that the entire trailer was recorded on the PlayStation 5. Given that the trailer was uploaded in a choppy 2160p at 30 fps, it’s possible that at least some cutscenes could be reproduced by the console in such a constellation and at similar graphical settings. Whether upscaling is used is not directly evident from the trailer.

More details on Vice City’s action and locations
In addition to the graphics, the trailer also shows the main characters and other people and locations in Vice City, which have now also been presented in more detail. Rockstar is thus providing more in-depth information on GTA VI than before.
