With the Shelly 1L Gen3 and Shelly 2L Gen3, Smart Home Specialist Shelly once again offers smart home relays for lighting installations where a neutral conductor is not available. Finally, the first-generation Shelly 1L was able to replace it without a neutral conductor.

The Shelly 1L Gen3 and Shelly 2L Gen3 are now available for two products that have this capability. In addition, there are innovations from Generation 3 such as the Wi-Fi Range Extender and the Bluetooth Gateway.
Since fourth-generation devices already exist, it’s not difficult to understand why the new 1L and 2L relays weren’t directly designed as Gen4 relays. Generation 4 is primarily characterized by support for the Zigbee and Matter smart home standards. At least one issue will also follow for Generation 3 in the near future via an update.
For 200 to 700 watts Circuit Performance
The 1L relay can switch up to 200 watts of power. The 2L relay with two channels can also switch up to 200 watts on channel 1, even up to 700 watts on channel 2. If the load to be switched is less than 20 watts, as is often the case with a single LED lamp, a bypass module must also be installed, but which is included in the scope of delivery.

The Shelly 1L Gen3 and 2L Gen3 are now available in the Shelly online shop. Both products have not yet appeared in the price comparison.
The 1L variant costs €35.58. The dual-channel relay costs €41.53. An additional Shelly jumper costs €3.45 in the Shelly online shop.
The first-generation Shelly 1L was even much cheaper for its time, costing a maximum of €19.99. Sometimes, the relay was even available for less than €12.
