Silverstone Seta A2: the “curved” case receives more air

The second version of the Seta ATX tower with the A2 addition can draw in more air from the front. Silverstone still retains the curved steel front panel, which significantly defines the appearance of the case. The chassis itself will also be completely redesigned.

The A2 shares only a rough design with the now four-year-old Seta A1. But there are also changes here: the front panel is slightly straightened and backlit with LEDs. Numerous small inlet openings now allow air to be sucked in directly.

This job is now done by conventional 140mm fans instead of the predecessor’s 200mm variants. Three 120mm or 140mm units each mount behind the faceplate, under the lid and on the side panel, while additional fans are located on the rear and on the PSU cover. Four 140mm fans are included, connected to an integrated hub.

The radiators can be installed on the side and top depending on the position of the fans up to a size of 420mm or 360mm – up to three at a time, according to the product page.

More than ten hard drives are possible

The new Seta also focuses on what is now an unusually high hard drive capacity from the factory. Four hard drive cages for two 2.5″/3.5″ each are included. The length of the graphics card varies depending on the position, and no or fewer fans can be placed on the side panel when using cages. However, if space is freed for the GPU, there are virtually no relevant length limits. CPU coolers still have 190mm of available height space. This is sufficient for all copies currently available.

Two additional 3.5/2.5″ sockets are located behind the motherboard, one of which is omitted if a motherboard with rear connectors is installed in the case. Three additional 2.5″ drives can be mounted on and off the cover. The explains that this configuration is intended for use.

Pricing and availability

The Seta A2 is not yet listed in stores. According to Silverstone, the recommended price for the black and white gold version of the tower is 170 US dollars plus tax, so prices in euros should be around 180 euros.
