Sony: Trailer for The Last of Us and Until Dawn, Horizon, Helldivers in film 44 comments

During its press conference for CES 2025, Sony will discuss not only technical innovations but also future cinematographic projects. The Last Of Us season two gets a date and trailer. Additionally, four other game titles have been nominated for a film adaptation.
Firebirds and clickers of April 2025
The continuation of the moving story about the protagonists Joel Miller, played by Pedro Pascal, and Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey, will be released in April this year. The trailer, which lasts just under a minute, only shows short sequences, while those familiar with the PlayStation game know the emotional depth of the second part.
In Germany, the series will once again be broadcast exclusively on Sky. It is not yet known whether the second season will also be offered from the start via its WOW streaming service. The season will contain seven episodes.
The second season takes place five years after the events of the first season. In a previous trailer, it was briefly mentioned, among other things, that Ellie and Joel live socially integrated in a small town and go about their daily lives.
The release in April is hardly surprising since the PC port of The Last of Us Part II is scheduled for April 3, 2025.
More big Sony names coming to the screen
Without major trailers, Sony also announces that it is working on several feature films. But above all, the film adaptation of Until Dawn is scheduled to hit theaters on April 25, 2025. Early preparatory work is currently underway for the film adaptations of Helldivers 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn.
An anime series based on the video game series of the same name is also in development with Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. The series is being created in collaboration with Aniplex and Crunchyroll and is set to appear exclusively on the anime streaming platform in 2027.
