Case label Thor Zone, launched via Kickstarter in 2019, presents its latest small case, the Tetra. However, the manufacturer does not provide all the details regarding the presentation. The ITX case will be launched in two variants starting in the first quarter of 2025.
Two sizes with space for a 4090
Thor Zone offers the Tetra in two size versions. While the Tetra S has a volume of 8.8 liters, the Tetra R offers 12.3 liters. The manufacturer does not reveal the exact dimensions of the presentation, but reveals at least some details on the hardware limitations. Both ITX cases accept SFX or SFX-L power supplies. There is no usual hard drive space, so you only have to use M.2 data carriers.

When it comes to graphics cards, Thor Zone not only lists simple maximum sizes, but also lists dozens of compatible models on the product page. Any of eight custom models of the Nvidia RTX 4090 can be installed in the larger Tetra R and the Founders Edition of Nvidia’s current flagship can be found in both versions. Compatibility lists include Nvidia RTX 4090, RTX 4080 Super, RTX 4080, RTX 4070 Ti Super, RTX 4070 Ti, RTX 4070 Super, RTX 4070 as well as AMD counterparts RX 7900 XTX, RX 7900 XT, RX 7900 GRE, RX . 7800 XT and RX 7700XT.
The compatibility lists are not exhaustive and do not list all the models available on the market, as shown by a small sample of the Techoutil editorial team.
Be careful with GPU size
In the Tetra R, the graphics card can be a maximum of 353 mm long. The maximum height is 165 mm, although it is explicitly stated that the electrical connections should generally be 15 mm high. The depth of the graphics card can be 78 mm without the backplate and 83 mm with the backplate. On the smaller Tetra S, the imager can be 307 mm long and 158 mm high. The depth is given as 63 mm without and 68 mm with the backplate.
Maximum dimensions of graphics cards in Tetra R and Tetra S cases Maximum length Maximum height* Maximum depth (without backplate) Maximum depth (with backplate) Tetra R 353 mm 165 mm 78 mm 83 mm Tetra S 307 mm 158 mm 63 mm 68 mm * Note: Regarding the height, an additional 15 mm should generally be taken into account for the electrical connections.
cooling
For cooling, both Tetras rely on an all-round perforated and completely removable outer shell. The product images suggest aluminum. Inside, the series relies solely on air cooling. The CPU cooler in the top-blow configuration can protrude 70 mm in height on the Tetra R and 54 mm on the Tetra S. For the rest of the case ventilation, the Tetra R has a 120 mm fan, although the frame depth can be a maximum of 15 mm, which limits the possible selection of suitable fans to only 21 models. With the Tetra S, two 60 mm fans can be installed between the power supply and the graphics card. Here, the choice is much wider with a total of 66 suitable models.
In the 1st quarter of 2025 at unknown price
The launch of the Thore Zone Tetra is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. The manufacturer is still hiding a price for the presentation. The product images show a total of four color options, one of which uses wooden spacers on the front.
