LG introduced its new flagship gaming monitor with the UltraGear 27GX790A with fast 480 Hertz OLED. In addition to doubling the refresh rate, the monitor should also score points with its other technical characteristics.

The 27-inch OLED monitor is the company’s first model to offer a refresh rate of 480 Hz. LG took its time introducing the new flagship, as there are already comparable monitors from Asus (ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP) and Sony (Inzone M10S), all of which rely on LG’s mass-produced panel since August and since. Available in stores in August and September respectively.

Availability and price

LG is offering the monitor in the US for pre-order by December 25th for a discounted price of $999 before taxes. The announcement does not indicate when the monitor will be available in retail stores in Europe. Pre-orders are scheduled to ship from December 30th.

Comparable monitors from Asus and Sony are listed starting at €1,050 and €1,349 respectively, so we can expect a comparable price point after their introduction.
