The first rumors have emerged about new monitor launches from ViewSonic planned for early 2025, which also talk about new gaming monitors with a refresh rate of up to 520 Hz, an OLED display and 4K resolution.

520Hz OLED for gamers

In addition to the new ColorPro and professional monitors for professional use, a new gaming monitor should also attract attention. The most important feature of the new gaming monitor is its fast and variable refresh rate of up to 520 Hz. Added to this is a response time of 1 ms MPRT (Moving Picture Response Time) and support for ‘AMD FreeSync Premium. It can be assumed that the screen will have a WQHD resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels and a display diagonal of 27 inches. However, details about this are not yet known.

27-inch WQHD monitors are currently available with up to 480 Hz, rumors of a new OLED monitor from suggest this 500 Hz with WQHD on 27-inches. The monitor planned by ViewSonic would offer 20 Hz more. It is not yet known whether, like Samsung, it is a panel combining organic light-emitting diodes and quantum dots.

4K-OLED with dual mode

Additionally, ViewSonic is also reportedly planning a new gaming monitor with a 4K OLED display and dual mode. Many monitors natively display 3840 × 2160 pixels at up to 240 Hz, but can be switched to 1920 × 1080 pixels and 480 Hz at the press of a button. With the XG272-2K-OLED, ViewSonic only launched its first OLED monitor on the market at the end of April this year.

ColorPro with 5K and Thunderbolt 4

ViewSonic’s new ColorPro professional monitors for photographers and creatives, meanwhile, are intended to combine high color fidelity with 5K resolution and a Thunderbolt 4 dock. The first ColorPro monitors already offer Thunderbolt 4, but support maximum resolution of 4K UHD.

ViewSonic is expected to provide details on all monitors at in Las Vegas in early January 2025.
