WWII shooter: Sniper Elite 4 is coming to iPhone, iPad and Mac on January 30th 6 comments

Little by little, the iPhone, iPad and Mac are also becoming gaming platforms for AAA games. Rebellion’s Sniper Elite 4 now shows that more time is being devoted to the Apple ecosystem. The shooter, released 8 years ago on PC, will also be coming to iPhone, iPad and Mac on January 30, 2025 and can be pre-ordered now.
Available for Apple from January 30th
Rebellion had originally announced Sniper Elite 4 (review) for iPhone, iPad and Mac in June of this year, but has not yet given a date. January 30th of next year is now set. The game is already available in the various Apple app stores and can initially be downloaded for free.
Buy once for all platforms
But Sniper Elite 4 is not really free, it is activated via an in-app purchase, which only concerns the main campaign at 22.99 euros, which applies to iPhone, iPad and Mac, in order to be able to play it on all platforms with the purchase can be. The registration also works on all classes of devices using the cloud. Optionally, the missions “Death Storm” can be purchased for 9.99 euros and “Target: The Dictator” for 0.99 euros. In the complete package, Sniper Elite 4 costs a slightly reduced 29.99 euros.
The game uses MetalFX upscaling
The World War II shooter, set in Italy in 1943 and focusing on the stealth and sniper skills of the main character Karl Fairburne, uses an iPhone 16 (test) (all models) with an A18 or A18 Pro, an iPhone 15 Pro (Max ) with A17 Pro or any iPad and Mac with at least an M1 in front. Developer Rebellion explicitly highlights MetalFX’s scaling support. The developers do not specify at what internal resolution the game is rendered on the iPhone and then scaled, for example, but screenshots created on iOS have a resolution of 1200 × 675 pixels.
3.77 GB on iPhone, 16.18 GB on Mac
Sniper Elite 4 takes up just under 3.8 GB of memory on an iPhone and 16.2 GB on a Mac. The editorial team has not yet been able to verify the storage requirements on an iPad.
