Wreckfest is a different kind of in which chassis contact and crashes are not unwelcome. The title will soon get a successor: Wreckfest 2 begins with its collision races in March in early access and, like its predecessor, it is there to have the final finishing touches.

The fact that the races here are not quite the high-gloss noble duels of popular formats clearly shows if the name of the title is not already screenshot at the latest. The State Vehicles Showroom searches the eye at Wreckfest 2 to no avail, but it finds dents, dings and dirt. Collision racing will begin in early access in March: on March 20, and therefore almost 12 years after the plus 1, the developers put traffic on the green.

Crash is in design

Wreckfest 2 once again unusual racing formats, such as Demolition Derby, Stockcar and Banger Racing. It is not only the predecessor, but also the intellectual precursor: developer Bugbear Entertainment first launched the concept in 2004 with Flatout and developed under its own flag.

The newest emante announces with a revised physics engine, which is intended to simulate details and damage to vehicle components with an improved damage model. This is not only caused by automatic contact with the car, but also by collisions with fences and other objects at the edge of slopes.

A mix of high-speed courses, slopes over scrap sites, roads with jumps or oncoming traffic through intersections is promised. In destruction derby mode, only the vehicle that rolls at the end wins; As in Battle Royale, this is a matter of survival, with beat stations being the only way in between.

This is how early access should work

During the early access phase, development must be controlled again by feedback. Not all features are available at first. Over time, additional languages, MOD support as well as “new cars and other vehicles” must be submitted. Additionally, an upgrade system is promised that makes a “demolition bulb” out of a beaten-up vehicle. The developers currently provide a timeline for this, no more information on system requirements.
