Xtender (VG): The first Arctic case is made of glass and comes in black or white 48 comments
Arctic announced its entry into the case market at Computex. The manufacturer, known for its coolers and fans, has chosen the Xtender (VG), which will be available in six variants. Following the glass case trend, it offers plenty of space for coolers and optionally places the graphics card for display.
The Arctic Xtender (VG)
The Arctic Xtender (VG) is an ATX case with space for E-ATX mainboards and up to two 420 mm radiators. One can be mounted under the lid, the other on the right sidewall—where three 140 mm radiators measure P14 on the underside, which is illuminated with Argb, or three 140 mm radiators. At the rear, there are two more fans from the new Arctic P12 Pro series (120 mm). The new fans should also be available separately soon.
The power supply is housed in a closed box inside. The left side can be replaced with a glass panel upon request. The power supply draws air from the right (rear) side; however, there is no opening in the bottom or inwards. The Xtender (VG) therefore does not need to be on large feet to maintain a certain distance from the ground.
The cover and the opening in the right side panel are equipped with large dust filters that are magnetically attached.
In addition to the standard version, the Xtender is also available as the Xtender VG. In this case, a “vertical GPU bracket” is included along with a vertical PCI Express riser cable for configuring the graphics card.
PCI Express Riser According to Standard 4.0
The PCI Express riser in all three VG (vertical GPU) variants supports PCI Express 4.0. This decision was also made for technical reasons: PCI Express 5.0 via a riser cable still causes problems, most recently with the GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition, whose three-part PCB relies on an extender.
Price and Availability
The Arctic Xtender (VG) should be available in stores soon. There are six variants. Prices start at €149.99 for the basic variant without vertical GPU support in black (1) and black with tinted glass (2). The white variant (3) costs €159.99. If you want to call the VG variant, you have to pay €30 more (4, 5, and 6).
