Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: Patch 1.2.4 Adds Hardcore Mode

As announced last week, Warhorse Studios released patch 1.2.4 today. It fixes some bugs and brings hardcore mode to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (in the benchmark test). Hardcore mode removes convenience features and forces three negative special skills.

Hardcore mode in detail

Hardcore mode can be selected when a new starts. The familiar standard mode will, of course, also be retained. In hardcore mode, the player loses some convenience features, such as the compass in the middle of the screen and its location marking on the map. When fighting, the player must do without the attack zone display in hardcore mode and be more attentive than before. There is no longer any help for blocking or countering the displayed icon. At the start of hardcore mode, the player must select three negative specializations that should make the game more challenging. Specializations modify experience gains, with Heinrich making you worse or speaking faster. Even gathering herbs is no longer risk-free.

Negative specializations in the hardcore mode of Deliverance from the Kingdom 2 – Back Problems – Heinrich has 50% less carrying capacity and can retreat when bending down and then have to limp for a while. Outside, Heinrich Schlurft when walking and his noise is 25 years old and shoes are faster. Sometimes wakes up elsewhere. Food saturates 50% less and 25% increases digestive speed. Sweaty – Dirty clothes 50% faster and NPCs smell twice as selective – Food spoils 25% faster and slaughtered animals only yield 25% meat – Heinrich can no longer ask for the way. Shy Heinrich can no longer use a service in case of Zuberdirnen. Speech improves 20% slower. Facing the back pipe – Heinrich takes 10% more damage and makes attackers stronger, braver, and resilient. Threatening – Marks no longer disappear or reawaken to punish you more severely. The chance of being searched is twice as high.

Clear Number of Bugs Fixed

In addition to Hardcore Mode, twelve bugs and issues with certain quests have been fixed, and balancing has been improved. Three bugs directly address certain quests in which NPCs could get stuck, behave incorrectly, or an overlay was incorrect. Several stability issues, both non-closer and non-closer, have reportedly been resolved. An issue with loading scores on the Xbox Series X has been resolved due to licensing issues.

The four Sagittarius skills, On the Road, Salva, and Wildrider, didn’t work properly when purchased under version 1.1, and then the game was loaded with version 1.2. Other bugs involved dice rolls or savegame issues with too many mods installed. Fans of new hairstyles and no hair can now also swear off the main hairstyles; the barber has been added to the “bald head” hairstyle. Prices in herb shops have also been adjusted so that they never have higher selling prices than the purchase prices.

Patch 1.2.4 for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is a good 328.2 MB on PC. All changes can be found in the full changelog on the ‘s website.
