Chips for ARC B770?: Intel Sends G31 GPUs to Vietnam Manufacturing Facility 36 comments
Was Intel’s large Battlemage GPU not being hired? Signs are growing that the answer to this question posed two weeks ago is “yes.” Because yet another shipment document has become public listing the G31 GPU—this time, the GPUs went to Intel in Vietnam.
G31 GPUs for the Limited Edition?
First up, X-User Haze, who also points out that Intel’s ARC series reference design, the “Limited Edition,” was manufactured in Vietnam. Delivery took place in late March. Only the G21-based B580 and B570 are up to date.
To date, there are two second-generation Intel Arc Desktop Products “BattleMage” graphics cards: the Arc B580 (test) and the Arc B570 (test). They are based on the smaller G21 GPU and compete in the current GPU benchmarks of publishers, averaging over 20 current games against AMD and NVIDIA’s absolute entry-level solutions.

Intel has been covered so far
So far, Intel has denied any public comments about larger graphics cards. With the smaller variants starting in late 2024, the company has focused on the here and now. However, the manufacturer has emphasized that graphics card development is a multi-year endeavor and that we are only at the beginning of the journey.
After the presentation of the GeForce RTX 5000 and Radeon RX 9000, the potential for larger variants of the battle card appears to be greater than expected last year: Nvidia only slightly backed away with the GeForce RTX, and AMD has not been drawn into isolation either.
