CMF is the sub-brand of rien, which has now presented the second generation of its smartphone with the CMF Phone 2 Pro. The device receives more significant upgrades in terms of display and camera, but NFC is also finally on board for paying with Google Pay. With a price of 249 euros, these remain almost at the previous level.
CMF Phone 2 Pro is available in four colors
The CMF Phone 2 Pro costs 249 euros with 8 GB/128 GB and 279 euros with 8 GB/256 GB, 10 euros more than its predecessor. CMF offers the smartphone via the Nothing website and Amazon in the colors white, black, orange, and light green. The black and light green feature a matte glass finish, while the white variant has a textured sandstone surface. In Austria, sales are handled by Amazon and MediaMarkt, and in Switzerland via Digitec and Interdiscount.

Modular back for accessories
Similar to its predecessor, the smartphone comes with a modular back that can accommodate accessories using a screwdriver. Initially, this includes a universal case (€25), interchangeable lenses (fisheye and macro) (€35), and a wallet/stand (€35). The bundle with the case and wallet/stand or lenses costs €45, while the three add-ons cost €65. CMF Phone 2 Pro
Improved IP54 protection
The smartphone is slightly thinner at 78.0 × 164.0 × 7.80 mm, but 1 mm wider than the CMF Phone 1. And at 185 g, the manufacturer was able to reduce the weight by 12 g. The IP certification has also been improved from IP52 to IP54, so it’s no longer dripping water, but also versatile splash water.
The display shines up to 50% brighter
For the CMF Phone 2 Pro, the manufacturer has primarily revised the display, which now has a much brighter AMOLED panel with an additional 120 Hz. The 1,080 × 2,392 pixels spread over 6.77 inches should achieve a typical brightness of 800 cd/m² instead of 500 cd/m² and 3,000 cd/m² at the peak. Meanwhile, the manufacturer has increased the touch sensitivity from 240 to 1000 Hz. An optical fingerprint sensor is once again integrated into the panel.
Three cameras available
On the back of the smartphone, you’ll no longer find a single camera plus a depth sensor, but a triple camera setup featuring a wide-angle, ultrawide, and telephoto lens. This is an unusually large selection of lenses in this price range. With its 50 MP 1/157-inch sensor, the main camera achieves 64% higher light absorption than the CMF 1 phone, thus offering the largest sensor in its price range, CMF explains. The flagship ultrawide camera uses a 1/4-inch sensor with 8 MP, and the telephoto lens offers two times optical and a maximum 20 times digital zoom for photos with a 50 MP sensor to choose from. Under the hood, the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 “Pro” runs on a CMF-enabled SoC with 10% more CPU and 5% more GPU performance, although the clock speeds are said to remain unchanged. The SoC continues to rely on relatively old Cortex-A78 and A55 cores and a relatively weak ARM graphics unit. 8GB of RAM is still included, and expandable memory can be upgraded from 128GB to 256GB for 30 euros.
After the CMF Phone 1 still had to make do without NFC worldwide, so it couldn’t be used to pay with Google Pay, for example, this feature is now also part of the CMF Phone 2 Pro. Software with six years of security patches
On the software side, the parent company’s familiar Nothing OS 3.2 is used, based on Android 15. CMF provides the smartphone with new Android updates for three years and six years of security patches from the start of sales.
CMF Buds 2, CMF Buds 2 Plus and CMF Buds 2A
Alongside the launch of the CMF Phone 2 Pro, the company is also launching three new wireless in-ear earbuds: the CMF Buds 2, CMF Buds 2 Plus, and CMF Buds 2A, priced at €49.95, €59.95, and €39.95. CMF Buds 2, Buds 2 plus and Buds 2A

According to the manufacturer, the Buds 2 should be a versatile everyday companion with clear sound, high comfort, and smart features. They feature Dirac Opteo Tuning, 48 dB Hybrid-AC, and a spatial audio effect. The Buds 2 Plus come with high-resolution LDAC, listening compensation, and comprehensive EQ adjustment. The Buds 2A are the entry-level option with 42 dB ANC, 12.4 mm biofiber drivers, and a focus on rich bass. CMF Phone 2 Pro Technical Data
